You are exposed to a new kind of freedom as well as responsibilities. Don\u2019t be scared! Take a deep breath and RELAX! You\u2019ve made into to this amazing college and you have so much to look forward to.<\/p>\n<p>Here are few tips to manage your freshman year.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Get to know your academic advisor<\/strong>&#8211; The college advisors are here to help you. Your task is to meet with them as often as possible to discuss your needs and wants. Make the time to meet with them!!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Meet with your professors<\/strong>&#8211; Forming a good relationship with your professor is the key to success. Your professor aren\u2019t here to fail you. They want you to give your best effort, but you have to take the effort to visit their office hours. Only you\u2019d know what\u2019s troubling you, so let your professors know of your issues. They will understand and they will help you!!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strive for a good grade<\/strong> &#8211; Please don\u2019t slack off. I can\u2019t stress this enough! Your priority is to do well rather than to just \u201cpass\u201d. Plan your study time and try your best to finish your assignments before due dates. Be organized!!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t feel pressured to make a decision about a career\/major<\/strong>&#8211; It\u2019s ok if you don\u2019t like your current major because you can always change it. Don\u2019t stress over it. Speak with your advisor as soon as possible. They will help you!!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get involved on campus<\/strong>&#8211; You are here to build a career for yourself and meeting new people opens you up to opportunities. You are in a friendly environment and the campus has a lot to offer. Join few clubs, attend student activities, and make sure to enjoy yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Freshman year is the perfect time for you to explore. College is not about partying and misusing your new freedom, it\u2019s about maturing and taking the first step to your future. This college doesn\u2019t abandon those who seek help!
